    - Trincity Village Centre Mall Kingspan architectural cladding contract completed

    - Completed major Cold Storage distribution warehouse project for Agostini's Ltd. Trinidad.

    - Awarded Contract for New Albrosco Cold storage warehouse facility, Arima, Trinidad.

    - Awarded Contract for New Chef Foods Manufacturing Cold Storage and manufacturing facility in Barbados.

  • 2019

    - Awarded multiple contracts to manufacture Stryotex Geofoam blocks for land fill for the new extension of the Sir Solomon Hochoy Highway

    - Design Supply and Installation of all refrigeration and display equipment for S.S. Persad's Supermarket, Mayaro, Trinidad

    - Awarded distribution of Mizani Professional products by L'Oreal

  • 2018

    - Completed major Kingspan cladding and SAS glazing project for Vamed GmbH, Austria for the new Point Fortin General Hospital, Trinidad.

  • 2017

    - Major Kingspan architectural Cladding project undertaken for Republic Bank Data Center, Trincity, Trinidad.

    - L'Oreal USA awards the Salon Essentials Division distribution of L'Oreal's Consumer Products Division brands and Active Cosmetic Division Brands

  • 2016

    - Major Kingspan architectural Cladding project undertaken for Tobago House of Assembly Headquarters, Shirvan Road, Tobago.

  • 2015

    - Completed major cold storage distribution facility for Chef Foods Manufacturing, Barbados.

  • 2014

    - Awarded Government contract to design and build the new NALIS Library complex in Couva, Trinidad.

  • 2012

    - Completed insulated roof panel project for Nestle Trinidad using Factory Mutual (FM) approved Kingspan roof panel as specufued by Nestle Switzerland for superior fire resistance.

  • 2010

    - Awarded Agency for Kingspan Group UK range of architectural and controlled environment products for entire Caribbean region.

    - Completed design and build of 20,000 Sq. Ft. Seafood processing facility, Trinidad.

    - Completed design and build of Campus buildings for UTT Corinth and Valsayn.

  • 2008 

    - Installed second ISOWALL pre-fabricated insulated panel line to triple production capacity of panels fro pre-fabricated modular construction.

    - Design Supply and Installation of all refrigeration and display equipment and shelving for S.S. Persad's Supermarket, Princes Town.

    - Awarded distribution of Redken Professional products by L'Oreal

    - Installed third EPS (expanded polystyrene) production line to double current capacity.

  • 2007 

    - Opened third factory in O'Meara Industrial Estate, Trinidad. The new facility is solely responsible for the fabrication of truck and van bodies manufacturing over 200 units per year.

    - Awarded very large design-build construction project for several office buildings, lecture halls and administrative buildings for the University of Trinidad and Tobago.

    - Won Prime Minister's Export award for the third time.

  • 2006 

    - Acquired local Distributor of L'Oreal Professional and Pevonia beauty products and formed Salon Essentials Division.

  • 2005 

    - Awarded Caribbean distribution rights for KysorWarren refrigerated supermarket display equipment refrigeration. This complements our existing refrigeration equipment lines and allows supermarkets and groceries throughout the region to deal with a "one stop shop" for all their fitting out needs.

  • 2004 

    - Reintroduced pre-engineered building system for the rapid construction of low cost housing, site offices, classrooms, temporary accommodation units, etc.

  • 2002 

    - Supplied over 400 tons of LENNOX air conditioning to the new Movie Towne complex in Port-of-Spain and 300 tons to various Government built schools across the Country.

    - Won Prime Minister's Export award for the second time.

  • 2001 

    - Began representing the LENNOX brand of air conditioning equipment.

  • 2000 

    - Constructed pre=engineered Flight Catering Facility in Bonaire, N.A..

  • 1995

    - Completed fabrication of two (2) specialist living quarters modules for BPAmoco Oil Company. Units completely finished at Arima facility and transported to Galeota.

  • 1993

    - The VIKING range of dry goods and semi-insulated truck and van bodies launched. Since that time, Mecalfab Ltd has manufactured armoured vehicles, mobile blood banks, mobile libraries, horse carriages, fast food trailers, etc.

  • 1990

    - 50,000 SF Public Cold Storage Facility completed for Harbour Cold Stores (a Member of the Grace Kennedy Group of Companies) in Kingston, Jamaica. Entire construction completed in 11 months.

    - Won Prime Minister's Export award for the first time.

  • 1989

  • 1988

    - 50,000 SF Public Cold Storage Facility completed for Harbour Cold Stores (a Member of the Grace Kennedy Group of Companies) in Kingston, Jamaica. Entire construction completed in 11 months.

    - Won Prime Minister's Export award for the first time.

  • 1987

    - Completed Construction of airline flight catering facility in St. Maarten (hurricane proof). Facility has survived several major hurricans, without damage.

    - Won Prime Minister's Export award for the first time.

  • 1986

    - Purchased property at #92 Queen Street and Constructed "Mecalfab House" corporate headquarters building of 20,000 Square Feet on 5 floors in the nation's capital, Port-of-Spain.

  • 1985

    - Commenced several cold Storage projects in South Florida including Jetro's Cash & Carry, Larry Kline's Meats, Miami Meat Purveyors and Dutch Packing amongst others.

  • 1984

    - Constructed Cold Storage facilities for poultry processor called PIPASA in San Jose, Costa Rica. Formed Costa Rican joint venture company to pursue other projects

  • 1979

    - Purchased Styrotex (Caribbean) Limited, SCL From Ansa Mcal. Began manufacturing expanded polystyrene (styrofoam) under the registered trade name of Styrotex.

    - SCL manufactured expanded polystyrene foam billets, which is the insulating core used in the ISOWALL building panel. Over the years, we added numerous other Styrotex branded products like beer coolers, ice buckets, seedling trays, bat proofing, seafood export packaging, root insulation, geofoam blocks, etc.

  • 1978

    - An automated machine to continuously laminate ISOWALL brand structural insulated building panels is purchased from the machine's inventor in Austrailia, ISOWALL (Austrailia) Pty. The ISOWALL product line is launched in the Caribbean. ISOWALL was an internationally known brand in the cold storage construction industry and there are over 25 factories worldwide. ISOWALL cold storage warehouses are utilized by food distributors, meat processors, seafood exporters, pharmaceutical companies, supermarkets, fast food outlets, etc

    - Due to the flexibility of application of the ISOWALL product, we have adapted it for use in office partitioning, toilet partitioning, building cladding panels, portable offices, temporary structures and specialist roofing applications

  • 1974 - Name changed to Mecalfab Limited
  • 1972 - Mechanical Fabricators Limited established by Nicholas Costa and Nazir Rasool in rented premises at 92 Queen Street, Port of Spain. Primary endeavour was the manufacture of refrigerated, insulated truck bodies for the local ice cream industry. Based on initial success, the Company quickly grew and started manufacturing walk-in freezers and cold storage warehouses using similar production techniques & technology.
